Adwords : A targeted advertising program in which business ads appear as « sponsored links » on the Google results pages as well as the results pages of Google’s partners, such as AOL and Ask.com. The advertiser chooses keywords and a short one- or two-line text ad, which is displayed on the results pages when the ad keywords match up with the search keywords.

Affiliation : an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts. It is an application of crowdsourcing.

Attrition : Gradual wearing away over time of the customer loyalty to a brand in absence of effective promotion. Calculated by the attrition (or churn) rate.



CMS : Content Management System

A software or a group or suite of applications and tools that enable an organization to seamlessly create, edit, review and publish electronic text.

CRM : Custom Relationship Management

CRM entails all aspects of interaction a company has with its customer, whether it be sales or service related. Computerization has changed the way companies are approaching their CRM strategies because it has also changed consumer buying behavior.

Cross Chanel :

Use of one marketing channel (such as direct mail or internet) to support or promote another channel (such as retailing).



ERP : Entreprise Resource Planning

An integrated computer-based system used to manage internal and external resources, including tangible assets, financial resources, materials, and human resources. It is a software architecture whose purpose is to facilitate the flow of information between all business functions inside the boundaries of the organization and manage the connections to outside stakeholders.



Greenwashing : when a company makes a misleading claim about the environmental benefits of its products, services, technologies or practices.



IoT : Internet of Things.

The network of physical objects or « things » embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity  to enable it to achieve greater value and service by exchanging data with through other connected devices (ex: heart monitoring implants).



SEA ou SEM : Search Engin Advertizing ou Marketing

a form of Internet marketing that seeks to promote websites by increasing their visibility in search engine result pages (SERPs) through the use of search engine optimization, paid placement, contextual advertising, and paid inclusion

SEO : Search Engine Optimization

The process of choosing targeted keyword phrases related to a site, and ensuring that the site places well when those keyword phrases are part of a Web search.
